Ruskin (June, 2026)
Wealth is other people.
To enrich yourself,
Enter the world of Other subjectivities,
You will surely be enamored
By the expansive range of possibilities.
Like a nail yearns to be hammered,
The Same feels the absence of its complement, so
The masses gravitate towards the Other.
Frightened by contrast
Their instinct is to smother and blast.
Yet the Other persists,
Ignoring the court’s orders
Of cease and desist.
Resilient in its rebuke,
Seductive in its mute,
The Other lives its whims
Playing with life’s multiplier effects.
Ultimately the crowd succumbs,
Swallowed by the Other’s internal furnace
Where, through alchemy,
The solid mass assumes fluidity
And splits off into groups.
Welcome back, primordial soup!
